Summary
Cloud Service Providers have documented so-called Shared Responsibility Models. These are basically RACIs that helps delineate roles and responsibilities between CSPs and clients and function of the cloud models. The positioning of IAM in this context is of special interest to us.

Microsoft
In Microsoft, 2020(1), Microsoft describes how security teams should adapt their strategy to accompany organizations in their transition to the cloud. They cite their shared responsibility model and interestingly position IAM exactly at the juncture point between the on-premises world and the cloud.
