Align Role Model with HR.

Rationale

This allows you to automate role assignment based on function and department. And cut down time to onboard new employees both in- and external.

Implementation Details

Whenever a new employee joins the company, the global userid gets created automatically and based on the function and department basic roles can be assigned.

However this does require discipline from the organisation to maintain the organisational model and the functions active in the departments and the mapping of the roles to departments and functions.

Based on changes in department or function the mover process kicks in and removes old function and organisation roles and assigns new ones based on the changes.

For movers you can allow a grace period in which the employee is allowed to have both the old and new roles.

It’s also wise to have the HR department register external personnel (perhaps a separate BP).

The outcome of a role discovery exercise is revealing in many other aspects as weil. Organizations will have greater insight into relationships across the business areas with resulting impacts to areas such as human resources (HR) integration and business-continuity planning.
