CMM Level 1: Initial
The IAM Program is not benchmarked. In the absence of reliable points of comparison, the management of the IAM program is based on subjective impressions and guessing.
CMM Level 2: Repeatable
CMM Level 3: Defined
CMM Level 4: Managed
CMM Level 5: Adaptive
The IAM Program is systematically and regularly benchmarked, both qualitatively and quantitatively, against peer organizations on varying dimensions (e.g. security, costs, performance, etc.). Strengths and weaknesses are identified and inform continuous improvement of the IAM program.
