Protocol to guarantee the anonymity of contributors
Contributors to Open-Measure may wish to preserve their anonymity. Typical contributions for which anonymity may be desirable in certain circumstances are:
Benchmarking data
Testimonies
Other contributions such as descriptions of processes, indicators, etc.
In order to protect contributors from any harm or pressure, the following protocol is followed to assure their anonymity:
Send me your contributions to david.doret@open-measure.org.
A spreadsheet contains the list of anonymous contributors.
The spreadsheet uses a formula to generate random pseudonyms in the form “Anon-XXX-XXX-XXX” where the Xs are random decimal digits.
The spreadsheet uses a formula to assure that random pseudonyms are unique.
Quotes of research participants are stored in the spreadsheet and assigned unique pseudonym. That is to say, if a single participant is quoted several times, every quote is assigned a distinct pseudonym to avoid the possibility of reconciliation.
The spreadsheet is encrypted and protected with a highly complex random password.
The spreadsheet password is stored in a password management system.
As a 4 eyes-check, we edit the original text you send us and cross-check that any identifiable information was properly removed.
We then publish it for you under Anonymous Testimonies.
When published, the quote is only accompanied with its pseudonym and the year when the original contribution was made.
