Siloed Identity Repository

Siloed Identity Repository

dictionary-term

Definition

A Siloed Identity Repository is an Identity Repository that is neither a Master Identity Repository nor synchronized with a Master Identity Repository.

When a subject needs access to multiple systems that are Siloed Identity Repositories, multiple disjoint identity records are necessary. This leads to duplication of records, consistency issues, and difficulties to keep up with the lifecycle of identities. In consequence, Siloed Identity Repositories are a common contributing factor to Identity Sprawl and Orphan Accounts.
